The Old Shrew Woman

The Old Shrew Woman is a friend of Mrs. Frisby. "...It was a lady shrew, a tiny thing scarcely bigger than a peanut..."(pg. 30)

Billy Fitzgibbon

 Billy is the second son of Farmer Fitzgibbon. "...Paul at age fifteen was nosier and had an annoying habit of skimming rocks..."(pg. 34)

Paul Fitzgibbon

 Paul is the on of the two sons of Farmer Fizgibbon's son. "...Paul, at age fifteen, he was quiet, hardworking boy, rather clumsy in his movement but strong and careful about his chores..."(pg. 34)

Farmer Fitzgibbon

 Farmer Fitzgibbon, father of two children and provides homes for animals living in his farm's garden for example Mrs. Frisby's family and many more. "...for they both knew that without Farmer Fitzgibbon's plow there would be no garden..."(pg.32)

Jeremy the Crow

 Jeremy the Crow is a very silly crow in this story. It was because he tangled himself to a fence, then saved by Mrs. Frisby right before Dragon the Cat came. He did owe Mrs. Frisby a favour where you would find out in the next chapters. "...the crow was very young indeed in fact only a year..."(pg. 23)

Mr. Ages

 Mr. Ages is a white mouse living across the barn, he is also the doctor in this book and helped cure Timothy. "...Mr. Ages was a white mouse who lived across the farm..."(pg.12) "...You may also think he is the doctor in the book... certainly he seemed very old, and very wise..."(pg.16).

Dragon the Cat

Dragon the Cat is a pet cat of Farmer Fitzgibbon's family. He was given the name, Dragon the Cat because Farmer Fitzgibbon's wife called him the name as a joke when Dragon was a young kitten pretending to be fierce. "...Farmer Fitzgibbon's wife gave the name as a joke when he was a small kitten pretending to be fierce..."(pg.21)

Cynthia

Cynthia is the youngest sibling in the family and loves dancing. "...Cynthia, the youngest, a slim, pretty girl mouse..."(pg.7).

Martin

 Martin is the first son of the Frisby family. He is the second oldest sibling of all the children in the family, "...the biggest, a strong quick mouse..."(pg.7).

Teresa

  Teresa is one of the two daughter's of Mrs.Frisby and she is the oldest sibling. "... Teresa the oldest came first..."(pg.7).

Timothy

Timothy is one of the two sons of Mrs. Frisby. "...He was also the thinest of the children and had a dark complexion like his father and brother..."(pg.10).

Mrs. Frisby

    Mrs. Frisby, mother of four field mices, "... was able through luck and hard work to keep her family... fed and happy..."(pg.4) She was also a caring mother. Her son, Timothy got sick, very sick. Mrs. Frisby decided to risk her life to seek help from Mr. Ages for medicine for Timothy. "... And as she did all this, she worried about Timothy..."(pg.13)

Mrs.Frisby and the Rats of Nimh: Setting

    In Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh by Robert C. O'Brien, "... a family of field mice...lived in an underground house in a vegetable garden..." (pg.3), on a farm owned by Mr. Fitzgibbon. This story is about a family of field mice struggles day to day because of a shortage of food, because Timothy, the son is sick and because the beginning of the plowing days of Spring are just ahead.
